Bespoke Alcove Units Herne Hill

Another recommendation for Elliot who has just finished a set of wardrobes and cupboard doors for our loft extension. We found him to be incredibly professional and reliable. We left him with our keys while we were away and came back to find the job finished and the room immaculate. He was a complete pleasure to work with and we are so pleased with the results. I have already mentioned him to friends as he really is a great find.

Another recommendation for Elliot! He’s just finished installing fitted wardrobes and floating shelves in my house, and I’m really pleased with the result. As well as a great finished product, he is also punctual, tidy, very good at communicating, and a very nice guy. Would definitely use him for any carpentry jobs I might have in future.

Elliot just built a set of fitted wardrobes for us in QRP and has done a fantastic job, delivered exactly to his specifications, in double quick time. He was a pleasure to work with through the whole process, from the site visit when he made a number of recommendations right through to completion. Highly recommended, extremely easy to deal with and a highly skilled carpenter.

Another recommendation for Elliot, called yesterday and he came and repaired my bannister today. Arrived promptly, was polite and just got on with the task in hand. All in all one very happy customer, I’ll definitely use Elliot again.

I had Elliot round to change a door (we wanted it to open the other way) and to fit a door threshold. He was excellent, arrived on time, seemed to take pride in his work and even returned when he said he would as the original threshold wasn’t suitable for the job. His prices seemed very competitive – I would definitely recommend.

Another recommendation for brilliant Elliot! Prompt, courteous and excellent job done. Will certainly use him again.

Just wanted to add my endorsement of Elliot and his work. He put up three strong floating bookshelves in our children’s room last week and did a fantastic job. He’s very punctual, efficient, extremely hardworking, tidy and just nice to have around. One of the things I liked most was how easy he was to communicate with – discussion about the job was very clear, helpful and friendly and he dealt with all questions and anxieties brilliantly. I’m sure we’ll use him again. Meanwhile, I keep looking at the shelves and smiling!

To echo all of the positive reviews already here. Elliot recently put in some alcove shelves and cupboards, he’s a nice guy and very easy to work with from the outset, took his time to go through the design and totally flexible as I changed things throughout the build. Really pleased with the end result and at a fair and competitive price.

Hiya, just another endorsement for Elliot who has completed a number of jobs for us – new shelves, cupboards, banisters. He’s a super nice guy, really helpful, reliable and good value. Highly recommended!

Just wanted to post another recommendation for Elliot. He did a great job of creating two sets of alcove cabinets in our dining room (with slide out draws for computer keyboards), as well as a wardrobe and shelves in our child’s bedroom.

Another strong recommendation for Elliot! On the strength of the reviews here we commissioned Elliot to make and install some wall-to-wall fitted bookshelves, and were delighted with the result. Elliot was efficient, reliable and highly professional throughout the whole process of quoting and scheduling the work: he not only completed the project ahead of schedule, he gave us a discount on the final invoice because the work had gone more quickly than anticipated. The shelving is beautifully made and Elliot’s work is of very high quality. Highly recommended!

I would also like to recommend Elliot, he came to repair a bannister for me. He was efficient and came round at a time that was convenient for me. Also very competitively priced. Would definitely use him again at the drop of a hat.

I cannot recommend Elliot highly enough! He has created multiple wardrobes, cupboards and bookshelves for us now and we’re extremely happy with the results. He’s fantastic to work with, very patient and trustworthy. We wouldn’t hesitate to call him regarding any future carpentry work.

Just addi another recommendation for Elliot. He?s just fitted cupboards and floating shelves for us and we?re really pleased. Really tidy and efficient and finished to a really high standard. Thanks Elliot.

Just wanted to add another recommendation for Elliot of Langley Carpentry – cannot recommend highly enough! We are thrilled with our new alcove fittings which he completed last week – incredibly high quality finish, friendly and professional service throughout, always to time, and super clean as he built the shelves at cupboards at his workshop separately and carried out any extra sanding/cutting outside (nothing like the dust cloud I had imagined, there was essentially no mess!?). End result is exactly what we were looking for, due to the time and attention from Elliot in chatting through options and providing designs and suggestions – thank you for an amazing service!!

Elliot is great and I would strongly recommend him. He has just fitted three cabinets and a number of floating shelves to a very high standard. He is very professional, tidy and his fee is very reasonable relative to the quality of his work. We will definitely instruct him again in the future!

Elliot has done a fantastic job of helping us fix a variety of issues with our new flat. From a new front door to new skirting boards and kitchen cupboard fixing – all of his work has been completed to a high standard and he is a nice person to have around the house that you can totally trust. I have also really valued his qualified opinion on some of the choices to available to us when doing things like replacing the front door which we had an aesthetic opinion on but knew nothing about the practicalities. I haven’t hesitated to recommend Elliot far and wide, his pricing is reasonable and transparent too! Don’t look any further for a great local carpenter.

A huge recommendation comes from me. I found Elliot on here from recommendations which others had posted. We exchanged messages, he came round and then advised me on a selection of places where to source my flooring from. All had sales on so I got to save some money.

His work is outstanding and my new flooring, beading, thresholds and doors look amazing. A really pleasant person, meticulous in his work and very tidy. All finished to a superbly high standard. He arrived when agreed and even helped me find a plumber.

Elliott fitted understairs storage in our hallway. He came up with a great solution of pull out drawers and we are very happy with the result. He was great to work with and kept to time and quote. We would highly recommend Elliott.

Elliot is brilliant, an absolute pleasure to deal with and has now fitted over seven doors in our freehold shared between my neighbour and I, tough work! Could not recommend more highly. Ollie

Another recommendation for Elliot. He’s, so far, replaced our architraves, built bedroom cupboards and alcove floating shelves. Fantastic workmanship and a pleasure to work with. Before starting any work he chatted with us to understand exactly what we wanted and what was possible. Can’t recommend him highly enough!

Another great find in this forum! Elliot has spent quite a few months working at our house, doing everything from book shelves, to a cabinet, to loads of fitted wardrobes and cupboards and even fitting a front door. He has been very reliable, has worked incredibly hard, being tidy and clean and always leaving the place as he found it. He is very approachable and friendly and was very flexible with all our work. I could not recommend him more. His work is beautiful. We are so pleased with everything he has done for us and everyone who sees his work always asks about it. I always felt he went beyond his job and was always happy to help with anything.

+1 here too. We had a really small job (skimming the bottom of two doors to fit with our new carpet) but Elliot did a good job and as importantly, he was great about getting back to me with dates/times, turned up as agreed and generally made the whole process straightforward.

I’m also happy to recommend Elliot, he?s just finished boxing in some pipes and fitted some shelves in a cupboard. I’m really pleased with the work.

Elliot has just fitted a wooden floor for us, we are delighted with the result and highly recommend. We would definitely use Elliot again in future for any carpentry requirements.

Just wanted to add another strong recommendation for Elliot. He changed some internal doors for us and was very accommodating with fitting us in to his busy schedule. Elliot was great to deal with, the work was all done to a very high standard and he worked beyond quoted hours to ensure we had everything in place before a building control visit. We will definitely call him again for any future carpentry / joinery work. Thanks Elliot!

Elliot has just finished a door frame and door installation. Went the extra mile to deal with tricky space and final touches. Agree with above poster, tidy, efficient and high standard of work. Very happy to recommend.

Adding another recommendation for Elliot who insulated our garden shed – neat work, quickly done, looks great, and really good to work with – great communicator.

We’d also like to add our highest recommendation for Elliot. He just completed three sets of bookcases for us. From start to finish, Elliot was not only a delight to work with but the quality of his finished product is outstanding. Elliot visited us three times before installing the bookcases, working with us to achieve exactly what we wanted. Whilst installing the bookcases, he was extremely tidy, leaving the sitting room spotlessly clean. Elliot takes great pride in his work and there’s no doubt we will hire him again for any future work!

Elliot has just built some alcove units for us after I found his info on this forum. I couldn’t be happier, the shelves and cabinets are beautiful and Elliot was such a pleasure to have in my home. I can recommend him not only for the excellent quality of his work, but he also works quickly and is a lovely guy, very discreet and neat and tidy! Happy to share photos if anyone would like to see our finished product.

Elliot just finished installing shelves and cupboards in our living room. We have refurbished the whole flat over the course of a year, and Elliot was by far the most professional, polite, punctual, careful tradesman. He was a joy to talk to, listened carefully and did a fantastic job. I’d recommend him to anyone needing any carpentry done. Wish we’d found him sooner!

Another very positive review for Elliot. We found him on here after reading the thread and asked him to build some fitted bookcases for our alcoves. He did a really great job – they look absolutely fantastic and are exactly what we had in mind. He is also a really nice guy and very efficient, helpful, and reliable. I am sure we will use him again!

Another satisfied customer here – Elliot replaced a threshold for us. He was tidy, efficient and did a great job. Highly recommended

Elliot has just fitted a new front door for me and his work was excellent. He was very patient in answering our endless questions and he responded very quickly to any emails and sent through a really clear quote in a timely fashion. He talked us through every stage and always arrived on time and when the door was being painted he popped back to check on the work and progress. Elliot was an absolute pleasure to deal with and to have around the house. He’s very respectful of your home and time and I cannot recommend him enough. I will absolutely use him for my next carpentry need.

Another recommendation for Elliot. He?s just fitted some alcove cupboards and shelves for us, as well as some doorway thresholds, and they look fantastic. His work is of a really high quality and he obviously takes a lot of pride in what he does. He was punctual, tidy, reasonably priced and a real pleasure to work with.

Elliot helped us replace an external door. He was extremely helpful in offering advice and suggestions and very prompt, efficient and professional in his communications. He provided a clear and reasonable quote and followed through with an excellent job in quick time. He disposed of the old door at very reasonable rate and even offered to dispose our old sash windows (our other contractor was not as helpful…). I would definitely recommend his services. Thanks again Elliot!

I totally recommend Elliot from Langley Carpentry. He has just installed a hanging guitar holder, and a large mirror, on the wall of our music room. We’re delighted with the results. Elliot was punctual, friendly and efficient. He also suggested a brilliant solution to a problem we had with one of our walls – and the end result looked much better than my original idea. We’ll definitely ask him back to do more work in future. Many thanks Elliot!

Another big thumbs up from me. Elliot just finished some amazing pull out under the stair cupboards which are built to perfection and work like a dream! He was meticulous and worked closely with us to deliver exactly what we wanted. A pleasure to have in the house. Would highly recommend.

Another recommendation – Elliot has just done a small-ish job for us (boxing in cables), the work was excellent and he was very professional. Will certainly be using him again.

We’ve had Elliot from Langley Carpentry at our house for two weeks and in that time he has completed work in the living room, master bedroom and loft. He’s been great to work with – punctual, responsive and most importantly everything has been completed to a very high standard. He’s also competitively priced for the quality of the work. Would absolutely use again, highly recommend his services.

I’d like to second all the above, we had Elliot come take a look at our house and out of all the tradesmen that quoted for us he was very efficient in communicating, polite, and was fairly priced. He did an excellent job changing two internal doors and laying a small area of decking in our garden. Would recommend to all – you get what you pay for!

I also found Elliot from recommendations on the forum and am really pleased with the work he’s done for me. I hired him to lay a concrete base for a new garden shed and he was extremely reliable, polite, turned up on time and did an excellent job, working round my availability to be at home, weather etc etc. I’d recommend him very highly and would definitely contact again for future work.

We found Elliot on this forum- and he has done a great job for us. Quick reply to initial enquiry, good job of re fitting our skirting board. Tidy worker. Would highly recommend him.

I can highly recommend Elliot for carpentry work. I needed some very large, bespoke wardrobes made for my bedroom and a large cupboard built in my kitchen. Elliot listened carefully to what I wanted and made me some beautiful wardrobes that really suit my period property and the kitchen cupboard blends very well with my existing kitchen cupboards. Elliot was punctual, caring of my property, really tidy, a genuinely nice guy and trustworthy. Because I work full time I gave Elliot my spare keys and he just let himself in every day and got on with the work. I’m really delighted with my beautifully crafted and professionally painted wardrobes and cupboard – thank you Elliot!

Another recommendation for Elliot, he recently built some floating shelves for me with rails, he was very helpful, and understanding when i changed my mind the week before! The end result is fantastic and i am beyond pleased. I’ll definitely be getting him back in when i’m ready to have my kitchen done. Highly recommended!

Elliot did a fantastic job building us a bespoke shelf and cupboard unit. He was professional, flexible and his attention to detail was on point. Would highly recommend!

Elliot has recently installed alcove cupboards and a large fitted wardrobe in our master bedroom. We’re absolutely delighted with the finished product. Elliot was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish and was also great with the kids who must have asked him a thousand questions. We would highly recommend him and his work.

Elliot recently fitted an engineered oak floor for us throughout the ground floor of our Victorian terrace which spanned the existing section and a newly built kitchen extension too. He was very happy to advise re choosing types of flooring and associated materials such as underlay / glue etc which was great as there’s such a huge choice of materials, suppliers and prices out there. He arrived on time and worked long hours to get the job done on time for us. And he was by far the tidiest, most efficient and helpful tradesman we’ve had on site during our refurb. We’re really happy with the finished result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Another very positive review for Elliot. We found him via this website and have been so pleased with the alcove units and floating shelves he did for our living room. We have since had him back to do some floating shelves in a little bedroom and it is all great. He is courteous, tidy, reliable and does a very nice job – what more can you ask?!

We’d also like to recommend Elliot from Langley Carpentry. Elliot transformed the bannisters on our stairs, putting in Edwardian-style spindles (the previous bannister had massive gaps in which weren’t safe for our young children). We found Elliot to be polite, punctual, transparent on pricing and very easy to have in our home while we juggled our day jobs and childcare. We’re really pleased with the finished result.

Another recommendation for Elliot. He recently built and painted some alcove shelving in our place and we are extremely happy. Several people have commented on how great they look when coming over. He’s a pleasure to deal with and we’re very happy that we’ve found him. He’s honest, hard working, reasonable and a real perfectionist. We’ve already booked him in for some more work in a few months. We’ve dealt with a lot of tradesman from the forum the last few years as we’ve moved house twice and Elliot was the best we’ve used.

Elliot has just completed making and installing floating shelves and cabinets in two alcoves in our lounge. His quote was competitive and he has done an excellent job. We wanted integral lighting in the shelving which he helped us with, by linking us with a good electrician. He was punctual, reliable, very tidy and efficient and most importantly the finished work was fantastic. I would highly recommend him, he’s very skilled and a lovely chap to deal with.

Elliot is great. He is really lovely, and very keen to ensure you are 100% happy with any work he is doing for you. He’s really reliable, punctual and also v v tidy. He was a pleasure to have in our home. He was great at talking through ideas with me, and very quick to send through a quote too. Whilst fitting some shelves in our wardrobe, he had to paint a small section he wasn’t planning to, so ended up painting that whole side so that it didn’t look out of place. He really takes pride in his work and won’t leave until you are completely happy with what he has done. I’ve had him back since and again, he was great. Quick, tidy and just a genuinely lovely guy.

Elliot has built and installed a new large garden/driveway gate for us. We are genuinely delighted with the result. Elliot was a pleasure to have around, very low maintenance, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended

Just had shelves and cupboards built in the alcoves by Elliot. Really impressed with the quality of work, gave loads of advice on the design, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Excellent experience using Elliot to hang 5 heavy internal doors, and make some cupboard doors for us. Like others reviewing his work we found him friendly, punctual, trustworthy and reasonably priced whilst giving a high quality product. We will definitely use his services again.

We had Elliot do some work for us – He changed our rotten UPVC front door for a fantastic Victorian wooden one and did such a great job we are now getting him to do our kitchen – a keeper! Very punctual, trustworthy and was competitively priced – would recommend.

Just another positive review for Elliot. Built alcove shelves in bedroom for us and very happy with end result. A lovely guy too. Strongly recommend him.

Elliot has just completed work at our flat – large built in bookcases, floating shelves, cupboards and bay window seat with storage. He did a really excellent job and we are thrilled with the result and will certainly have him back for more work when needed. Moreover, he was extremely professional, respectful and patient (when we changed our minds etc and were generally not v clear on what we wanted…). I would happily recommend. Lucy

Also wanted to add our recommendation for Elliot. He’s just built and painted alcove shelves and cupboards in my lounge; they look great. Elliot was a pleasure to deal with: does what he says he will, turns up on time, and all round easy to talk to.

Elliot recently replaced all 11 doors in my house, and built some new under-stair cupboards. He said he’d be there at 8am on the Monday, and was on the doorstep at 7.59. After that he worked his way through the house and despite the fact that there isn’t a straight line or right angle in the whole place finished on schedule and to a very high level of quality. Doors that close! Ooooooh! Skilled, thoughtful and tidy it was a pleasure to just give him a set of keys and let him get on with it.

Big thumbs up for Elliot. He’s done two jobs for us, fitting replacement front and back doors. As well as doing the job to a high standard, he was courteous, professional and fairly priced. Thoroughly recommended.

Another massive thumbs up for Elliot the carpenter. He’s so polite and communicative (yes, that is important!)his work is excellent and his rates are fair. Highly recommended.

Another recommendation for Elliot, who did an excellent job for us, building a wardrobe and a banquette. He was personable, quick to respond and flexible with all of our design indecisions. He was finished ahead of time and the end result was even better than we could have imagined, plus – immaculately clean and tidy. Highly recommend.

We highly recommend Elliot from Langley Carpentry. He has helped us with our custom fitted Boiler Cupboard with very short notice, and saved us from many more sleepless night as the Boiler was in our Master Bedroom. He was professional, prompt, easy to communicate with and understood our ask. Whilst my wife has sketched the moodboard, he was able to advise what is the best built, length, style and height of the cupboard that will suit our style needs. We look forward to working with him again to build our living room bench, storage and work station fitted set-up 🙂

Elliot just finished our built in wardrobes and we couldn’t be happier. No fuss. Quick and professionally done. Perfect final product. He even noticed that we’d accidentally overpaid him so he told us and transferred back the money. We couldn’t recommend him more highly for any carpentry jobs you might need.

We had new wooden period skirting board fitted through the whole ground floor and a small section on our landing following a new extension. We had to wait a little for his availability but really happy we did. He fitted the boards over 2 days and took plenty of care and attention while working over a new wooden floor and having to work with the limitations of Victorian walls! Really happy with the fitting. Turned up when he said, fixed a few quick things for us at no charge and was very easy to talk to. Really nice guy and already booking him in to do some other bits for us.

Adding another recommendation for Elliot. He has just finished remodelling our understairs area – blocked off one access, opened up another, fitted shelving and new doors – the finish and his attention to detail is brilliant. He is very clean and tidy, polite, trustworthy and I cannot recommend him highly enough. We would not hesitate to ask him back for future carpentry jobs. Elaine

Another double thumbs up for Elliot. An alcove of shelves put up expertly. Friendly and fast service, and good value too.

Really happy to recommend Elliot. He just built some great floating shelves and installed a new gate for us. Fantastic value, extremely considerate, kept us informed all the way through.

I’m another very satisfied customer of Elliot’s amazing carpentry work. He has just completed two external gates for me. A very tall security gate and a secondary side return gate. Excellent craftsmanship and high quality finishing. Elliot is straight talking, punctual, efficient, tidy and competitively priced. Very pleased with his work and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Another massive thumbs up for Elliot. I called him based on all the positive reviews on EDF and was very impressed with his professionalism. He came along to our home last week and installed 3 new doors and did a fantastic job, he is a really lovely guy and he was also extremely helpful in helping us source doors, answering all questions we had. I won’t be looking elsewhere again now we have found such a quality joiner / carpenter. Thanks Elliot!

Same here. I found Elliot through this forum. He has laid engineered wooden flooring, fitted and lacquered skirting boards and replaced locks, handles and hinges on all doors in my flat. He also helped me find painters and plasterers. Very happy with the work, costs are reasonable and made clear upfront. Highly recommended!
